Dear blog,

I had a truth too many in one night. It was overkill.
Couldn't fathom how I handled them, didn't thought I could, but I did anyway.
The tightness in my heart finally starts to ebb.

Came down with a swollen ankle and persistent fever since yesterday, practically slept my days away. The headache was so terrible at times I just couldn't fall into slumber, so I did my fair share of thinking.

And just few hours ago I had a conversation with my mum, well sort of trying to console her after she quarreled with my sis. Found out issues that shocked me to my core, yet at the same time helpless about- at least this is not the right time to step in.

That brought me to reflect horribly just how little time I have been spending at home, and now that I've moved back over this hols I'm still pretty much the daughter who's self-absorbed in her own life. How could I have missed out the turmoil at home?

Too often do we get preoccupied with ourselves that we can't see past the cause of our parents' worries and concerns. Now when I look back to my rebellious teenage days, I can't bear to imagine the angst my mum had to put up with. And its in my sister that I see shadows of myself, that I truly love my mum even more now that I think I understood her words and actions.

And it was with that edgy mood that I decided to breach the topic with him on MSN.
Funny how we couldn't even meet up and talk like proper adults.

Thankfully I got the answers in the end, after unsuccessful attempts to evade my questions- again.

In fact I saw that coming since when he was overseas. There were so many telltale signs and even blunt insensitive words that I simply chose to ignore.
I just hate to admit to myself he is lesser than what I thought he was.

These are not angry words to demean him. Lesser does not make him unkind or worthless, but lesser multiplies my disappointment a great many folds. I thought he could have handled it in a more mature and sensible manner.

It could have hurt less if he had the balls and initiative to talk about this.
Seriously it's painful having to be the one to do this, aren't I even entitled to a simple closure from you? Why do I have to force words out of you time and again?

Even your reasons sound politically correct to me. "I'm not ready" and "I don't want to rush into it". Trust me, it would have been better off knowing how you genuinely felt. Heaping statements like "You are a nice girl" and repeated "Sorry"s just make me feel more pathetic.

That also leaves me wondering how the game would have played out if I had simply kept mum and continued our game of pretense.

If I sounded angry just now, I hope I could remain that way. At least I didn't have to know my heart could constrict this way. It's hard to breathe.

Okay now that I'm more cool-headed I actually feel liberated!
I'm glad i had the courage to clarify things and though it wasn't the answer I hope to receive, at least he tried to be frank.
No point letting 2 years of friendship sour like this, so lauren lin lihui please be gracious and suck it up.

We still got each other's back if the need arises alright (:

Trains of thoughts derailing through my head, all in disarray.
There's this dull ache in my heart, which I try my best to suppress everyday.
Sometimes I'm pretty successful at it.
Sometimes I let it creep up to me too easily.

It's times like this I wish I could talk to you, tell you everything.
But I'm scared to burden you with my problems, which to you might be "others' problems".
I'm scared I'll pressurize you, I'm scared to find out we're no longer what I thought we were.
I say "bb" with an exclamation mark and a smiley face when you had to rush off. I wanted to make you feel good, but I felt terrible.
It actually felt bad to have to be independent.

Every morning I wake up, wanting to be a better person for myself, for the people that matter.
Maybe they are all selfish reasons afterall, I don't know.

After moving back home, things I pretended not to notice were just painfully obvious.
My mum is always tired, she always lacks sleep. Nothing really makes her eyes smile now.
At times I grew so sick of hearing her lamenting about her work, her life, her husband, her children. But recently I look at her, I see someone who finds living a chore. Someone who is disappointed with everything around her. When was the last time I see that spark in her eyes? All I see is weariness now.

I want to make her happy, but what I do never seem to be enough.
Maybe I just didn't try hard enough. I feel like a lousy daughter.
Friends tell me "follow your heart, do it while you're young", but what about my reality check?

Fancy spending so much on going out with friends.
You took the cab? When your parents walk to the interchange and to work every morning?

You are holding a birthday party? Hello, are you a princess?

Vietnam trip? You even wanted to go diving? Blog-shopping when you already have enough clothes? Buying make-up again?

Why do I feel so decadent?
Cause I could have chosen to spend those money on my family rather than myself.
Maybe a less creaky sofa? A new lamp with three functioning light bulbs rather than one? A better washing machine that doesn't leak? A more powerful shower head that doesn't take 5 mins to get your hair wet? More pocket-money for your sis? A family trip to Genting? Brought them out for seafood or steamboat?

I think that could have made my mum secretly happier.
My dad too, he's so disillusioned and disheartened that he's earning such low wages despite the long hours. I'm proud (or rather more glad) that he is still holding on to it, it was so unstable at first that we all thought he would just quit again. Yet, he didn't(: but he's unhappy too.

Okay i'll save the details and dramatization that its all "breaking" my heart.
No in fact I feel contented with my life now, its not tearfully upsetting but its a dull ache to see my family struggling to get pass every day.

I want them to rely abit on me, but they are all too proud to.

Changed a neat, clean skin to mark the end of my 8-month hiatus on this page.

The thing about taking a break in blogging is that you'll cease reading friends' posts regularly, so jingles now you know why I'd gone missing.

I promise to flood your tagboards religiously this December, cross my heart.

Well, i'm back to update and amuse myself with how retarded my own thoughts can be. In need of some writing therapy too, else i might just burst with what's pent up within.

The exams have finally ended for most of us, I was done with mine almost 2 weeks ago.

Calls for a celebration, no? Shrugs, no fever-pitch ecstasy for me.

Okay, lauren's feeling downhearted so let her rant here, and disagree another time.

For kickstarters, here's some chirpy updates to brush off the cobwebs:

My new roomie, Tricia! Am glad that somehow we ended up bunking together(:

She's very sweet and easy-going, but can be way carefree at times; which influences me to slack together with her like a year-one. OH NO, lauren you can't!

And here's my newfound animal farm, erm i mean mugging gang in hall haha.

The lounge has come to be our living room, only difference is we don't watch tv but attempt to study. At least it's more productive than my room and less stressful with their nonsense to perk me up at 5am. Feels better when pigs supper and grow fat together too :D

This is li jin, not in the group photo but since she grinned so widely for my camera, her shot shall be up!

She kindly sold me her thirty bucks zoukout ticket when she could keep the discounted one for herself(: Thanks girl, love you and cheer up!

The day after my last paper, Xevon called to ask me if I could go back to the office and help out, cause Samantha's on maternity leave. So i've been occupying myself pretty happily and saving up for the expenses to come in the festive month.

Anw! Samantha's given birth to the cutest baby boy ever. He sleeps alot but will sometimes open his eyes slightly to peek curiously at the new world and faces around him (:

Time really flies, the last time I saw Samantha she just found out she was pregnant and now she's had the baby.

My heartfelt blessings to this young mummy and her newborn.

Trudged my way down to Aloha Loyang after work for History Chalet, was totally tired but the people and food made it worth the travelling.

Gotta thank Ngiap for organising and preparing the food, Izzan for waiting half an hr to walk with me to the uluated chalet, and Fauwaz for driving us to the train stn (albeit terrorizing my handphone with THAT unsightly wallpaper, thanks ah!)

Meet my coursemates: the smoker who forever claims to quit tmr (but tmr never came), the former air-stewardess who's happily married (:, and the sporty Ruth who just snipped off her long flowy hair, totally BOOMZ.

HAHA. This is what PE teachers with good stamina are for!
Roasting marshmallow and blowing the charcoals by mouth.

We did canvassing for FOC 09/10 from last Thurs-Sat, as Standard Chartered racepack collection counter crew. My camera absolutely went on strike after the first shot, batt went flat ):

Anyhow, that's not the point. The point is that though volunteering with friends can be fun, with screwed-up admin it's kinda a waste of time RAHH. At least we had the card scanners, made registering a breeze for us. It's the waiting time tt makes me bushuang, feels like roaring again.

& the nice Andersens ice cream made up for the New balance grey pyjamas shirt, ah wells (:

I'm sad that I didn't register in time for the full marathon this year, next year I WILL RUN THE FULL MARATHON! Promise myself that.

Had a look at the Race Results this year. Am awed by the speed, freaking two hours plus for 42.95km. Kenya runners took the first three spots for men's category, and Russians dominated for women's.

It's exhausting when compromising can only get one so far.

Sometimes understanding comes with heart-wrenching clarity. Funnily enough, what is clear now will not suffice to account for the state of things upon your return. Even funnier is how you seem to believe what's meant to be will be. Sorry but that faith's been shattered by your unsureness.

Just as you insisted I should not feel sad, you need not feel bad.

No longer shackled to you, I'll be happier in time to come (:

Shall know better to hope again. If things work out in the end- good for us. If it doesn't, then life goes on.

By the time I reached his room,

They told me he went peacefully in unconsiousness,

but why do i see dried tears?

They told me its a form of relief,

but why is it so hard for me to unclench his stiff fist under the bedcover?

Five days of wake

yet too busy and tired to properly grieve.

I'm so going to screw my exams this semester, where was the determination I had in e past?

Studying used to be a personal fulfilment,

Now its tied to family responsibilities and the f word.

Future.

I'm seriously not coping well,

our youth makes some best year of our lives

yet i'm not making the best out of it.

I really hate the weak me.

Rushing my term paper on 15th century Melaka in the library with belly now.

She keeps staring at her screen smiling like an idiot,

while im miserably trying to churn out my essay.

I pray words can flow like water into my Word document.

Once again, broke my promise when I said i'll go for something.

Supposed to celebrate Meiyun's 21st birthday at her aunt's condo in Bedok tonight,

but decided not to kinda last minute.

Sometimes i wonder why i suck at completing work fast.

anyway, HAPPY 21st MEIYUN!

May you always have enough happiness to keep you sweet,

and enough determination to make each day a good day(:

Last week passed by in a blur and everyone commented i look darn stressed.

Haha, i concur.

But friends like von&bel who came to deliver food in e middle of the night(thankyew!),

fatfat chao mugger who mugs with me in the reading room,

awesome roomie who sets alarms for me and hides surprises in the fridge,

neighbours who always ask me if i want supper

& whine together with me how we wish there's no assignments,

schoolmates who r really sweet and understanding,

odac footies who held the kfc+macs+pizza+sakae treat (but of which i didnt go HAI)

and naima, kelvin the novo ppl who never fail to crack me with their CHUIness--

;these are people who keep me sane and human(:

Anyway, yes mone! i've decided not to have a life until 27th April my last paper.

Have you heard of baby OT?

I just read the article and my heart feels so heavy for the futility of it all.

OT is a 9 month old baby in the UK.

He suffered from mitochondrial disease,

a rare metabolic disorder in which the body can’t deliver energy properly.

As a result he was severely brain damaged and had lived in an intensive care unit since he was three weeks old, kept alive on a ventilator.

Doctors treating him had said the boy's life was intolerable and his disability amounted to 'torture'.

The hospital’s medical team had applied to the courts to end the boy’s treatment and take him off life support.

The parents wanted the hospital to keep their son alive.

They produced a video footage of Baby OT-

apparently giving a slight smile in response to being tickled on the feet by his father.

They were absolutely convinced he reacted to their voices, that he cooed when his father went closer and relaxed him and comforted him, and when he was unhappy he made a completely different type of noise

The attorney:

"Does not the baby's autonomy, humanity, his life justify further time and further resources?"

The doctor replied:

"What we are looking at is the quality of his life.

Parents may get tremendous pleasure from their interaction with him-

but what we are looking at is the quality of the life of this child.

How much pain and suffering should he be made to bear

when the pleasures he gets from life are few and far between?"

The verdict?

The parents lost their case.

Baby OT was unable to breathe by himself and died at 1008 GMT after doctors withdrew his treatment.

"He died peacefully. We will miss him greatly and wish to say that we are proud to have known our beautiful son for his brief life."

My heart goes out to them, and the medical team.

"There is a belief among us, fed by everyone around us, that medicine has the answer to everything. But unfortunately there are occasions where medicine can't do anything."

There is another case of Charlotte Wyatt.

Her parents was told she only had one-percent chance of survival. Doctors applied to the High Court for permission not to resuscitate her in a life-threatening situation.

She is now five-

Still needs a little oxygen every day, but loves to listen to nursery rhymes and can now stand and walk with the help of a walking frame(:

I'm glad she had the chance to live on.

but if u ask me, i'll go for pro-life-

though that isnt always the most rational decision.

I'm thankful for being born healthy and raised in a complete family.

It was mega fun and surprisingly I really enjoyed myself(:

I'd thought that being in Pub means i'll be restricted to just going around taking photos;

bitterly so as i see the rest having fun.

BUT i got to play the games as well. yayy *victory sign to myself*

Hanah, I know i've got to do my job doing the real camp haha.

People, i look forward to your brightest smile and the most pained expressions.

Forget about the sunshine when it's gone.

Nothing that i really feel like writing about, let's just say this is to ward off the complaints tt i haven't been updating since god-knows-when. But it makes me secretly happy in a sense. As it always happens, i like to give this page a new look after a long break from blogging- to keep me posting. Somehow blogs seem so yesterday after facebook came into the foreground, no? And randomly, it just occurred to me that it being NTU openhouse today signals one full year since the last one. Had gone with belly and von, and bel's parents drove us around. Was a confused wreck then, and in my opinion, not much better now. Sometimes I think I know what I want, but sometimes everything just seems a complete blur. So much for having supposedly grown the past year huh. End of sem 2 awaits, i can smell it. Wish i can tell u just how much i dread it. Totally.

Well wells, there shall be a proper update when i feel less grouchy haha. Oh ya, and check out AAR's 08 album When the world comes down. I like it. Sunshine is a hidden track, & stuck in my head today:D

to celebrate SIMONE's extremely belated birthday.

I have a feeling we'll grow old with each other (sounds romantic? HAHAHA)
bringing our husbands & little brats to our gathering.

Man, i really can't imagine. We'll have our hands full.

And if we do, please caution me to keep my children from running around simone yong.

I don't want them to get slapped/ get holes stared through their foreheads=P

Guess what? I just did this oldschool 'Get-to-know-yourself-better' kinda quiz.

Something that i SHOULD have grown out of by now ha.

My neighbour tagged me in one of his notes on FB and it was so accurate for him!

Rushing my term paper on 15th century Melaka in the library with belly now.

She keeps staring at her screen smiling like an idiot,

while im miserably trying to churn out my essay.

I pray words can flow like water into my Word document.

Once again, broke my promise when I said i'll go for something.

Supposed to celebrate Meiyun's 21st birthday at her aunt's condo in Bedok tonight,

but decided not to kinda last minute.

Sometimes i wonder why i suck at completing work fast.

anyway, HAPPY 21st MEIYUN!

Last week passed by in a blur and everyone commented i look darn stressed.

Haha, i concur.

But friends like von&bel who came to deliver food in e middle of the night(thankyew!),

fatfat chao mugger who mugs with me in the reading room,

awesome roomie who sets alarms for me and hides surprises in the fridge,

neighbours who always ask me if i want supper

& whine together with me how we wish there's no assignments,

schoolmates who r really sweet and understanding,

odac footies who held the kfc+macs+pizza+sakae treat (but of which i didnt go HAI)

and naima, kelvin the novo ppl who never fail to crack me with their CHUIness--

;these are people who keep me sane and human(:

Anyway, yes mone! i've decided not to have a life until 27th April my last paper.

How's school on your side?

I cant wait for this to be over.

Then off to my SEA backpacking i shall go!(:

Have you heard of baby OT?

I just read the article and my heart feels so heavy for the futility of it all.

OT is a 9 month old baby in the UK.

He suffered from mitochondrial disease,

a rare metabolic disorder in which the body can’t deliver energy properly.

As a result he was severely brain damaged and had lived in an intensive care unit since he was three weeks old, kept alive on a ventilator.

Doctors treating him had said the boy's life was intolerable and his disability amounted to 'torture'.

The hospital’s medical team had applied to the courts to end the boy’s treatment and take him off life support.

The parents wanted the hospital to keep their son alive.

They produced a video footage of Baby OT-

apparently giving a slight smile in response to being tickled on the feet by his father.

The attorney:

"Does not the baby's autonomy, humanity, his life justify further time and further resources?"

The doctor replied:

"What we are looking at is the quality of his life.

Parents may get tremendous pleasure from their interaction with him-

but what we are looking at is the quality of the life of this child.

How much pain and suffering should he be made to bear

when the pleasures he gets from life are few and far between?"

The verdict?

The parents lost their case.

Baby OT was unable to breathe by himself and died at 1008 GMT after doctors withdrew his treatment.

"He died peacefully. We will miss him greatly and wish to say that we are proud to have known our beautiful son for his brief life."

My heart goes out to them, and the medical team.

"There is a belief among us, fed by everyone around us, that medicine has the answer to everything. But unfortunately there are occasions where medicine can't do anything."

There is another case of Charlotte Wyatt.

Her parents was told she only had one-percent chance of survival. Doctors applied to the High Court for permission not to resuscitate her in a life-threatening situation.

She is now five-

Still needs a little oxygen every day, but loves to listen to nursery rhymes and can now stand and walk with the help of a walking frame(:

I'm glad she had the chance to live on.

I'm not going to delve into the debate of life expectancy versus the right to live.

but if u ask me, i'll go for pro-life-

though that isnt always the most rational decision.

I'm thankful for being born healthy and raised in a complete family.

i was born taller, slimmer, prettier and into a richer family.

To celebrate her 50th birthday, which falls nxt tuesday.

She is fifty already. I REFUSE to believe it.

Growing up also means that your parents are getting older by the day.
This is how Earth maintains its balance.

ANYWAY! On a lighter note, my hall had our seniors' camp yesterday.

It was mega fun and surprisingly I really enjoyed myself(:

I'd thought that being in Pub means i'll be restricted to just going around taking photos;

bitterly so as i see the rest having fun.

BUT i got to play the games as well. yayy *victory sign to myself*

Hanah, I know i've got to do my job doing the real camp haha.

People, i look forward to your brightest smile and the most pained expressions.

to celebrate SIMONE's extremely belated birthday.

Okie to the disastrous afternoon(e reason why i'm blogging):

Supposed to study together with belly and shuyi at hall 8's reading room today but there was an annoying interlude!

So belly's dad came to fetch her for a lovely family lunch,
leaving me and shuyi who came at 1pm to make do with can 9's vegetarian stall fried rice and lor mee.

WARNING!
don't try the above 2 dishes mentioned, the former is bland and the latter is uni-colour :(
though to give some credit the horfun and ee-mian is rather nice.

anw after the 'heartening lunch' we went back to the reading room rejuvenated to start studying.
*10 mins later*

An uncle in tee-shirt and shorts came to us, "Are you hall 8 residents?"
Me and shuyi looks up (stupidly/honestly) "No"
uncle(okie he's the hall fellow but i prefer to call him uncle) "its getting crowded.."

*tries to plead him with my eyes* TO NO AVAIL LAR, angry!

I am pissed lor.
1.) There are still EMPTY tables around though its indeed more crowded than last week.
2.) Why do u have to scrutinize my notes, i'm packing to get my ass off alr alrighht.

But actually I think if i were to complain, shuyi would have more to rant about.

Cause she went all the way to hall8 to eat a plate of chao ta fried rice and to get chased away by e uncle even before she finished one page of notes hahaha.

So i'm now in her room in Hall 1 after a long arduous trek! (ok i'm exaggerating haha)

Poor shuyi has lived for 13 days w/o roomie! *kowtow*

Lauren finished her first semester's History & English papers with characteristic aplomb,
henceforth expecting nothing less than heartstopping results.

She's back at home today,
but home feels a little less familiar every time she returns; and a little more burdened.

It is tormenting to be reminded of your inadequacies at every turn of events in all manners of subtlety and
it is another anguish to look on helplessly as someone cries out in silence that reverberates.

That kind of pain remains raw contrary to the old adage that 'everything fades away with time'.

Lauren thinks that's bullshit, to think she believed in it;
Not all things come full circle anyway, some never.

Enough of the third-person lamenting, it gets kind of sick when i'm hooked to it haha.

Anyway to all my pretty and handsome friends who are frying their brain cells at this moment,

Random thoughts ahead:

1) I need to start planning my Dec schedule!

Goodness it seems like there's so MANY things to do yet so LITTLE.
For example theres cheer that's 4 times a week at night, which means im theoretically free in all mornings :D
if you discount foc and hall production preparations (of which I have no idea how frequent or what we're gonna do), pageant planning (of which I think will keep me bumblebeebusy).

Oh no and I missed out ODAC recee&desaru trips! my first aid course! my tuition! my girlfriends dates! my family and chapalang chalets! Genting getaway! Christmas celebrations!

*hyperventilates*

Calendar god if you exist please help me to schedule everything nicely so that nothing will clash!

hahaha, I know she loves me even though I finished her pringles, biscuits and everything nice. Normally anything edible in our room have a lifespan of an average 2 days with the rare exception of coffee and milk.

and I know she loves me even though I insist she wake me up after my supposedly 'naps' when we both know its an impossible task.

I'm even more sure she adores my little starfish's bedtime songs that never fails to move her so deeply it gives her goosebumps :D

I'm happy^^ cause I managed to clear the air with my mum
and had a gd heart-to-heart chat with her for the first time in yrs.

& I went SPH for an interview today, its scary how a temp admin position requires THREE interviewers.

The look on their faces when they heard I can only commit for one mth pretty much summed up the outcome haha.

But gd news is Winnie's recruitment agency MANPOWER called me up this morning for this 2 weeks assignment to help out in preparing for a company's upcoming seminar.

They're so efficient.

Phone interview went smoothly and I'm gg to start work next Tuesday to 08 July (:

Okay, so it means there will not be any pictures for this post! Firstly cause i'm lazy and secondly cause i'm lazy haha.

I'm officially leading a taitai life now: sleeping in, wake up, eat, go online, go shopping, sip coffee with friends, watch tv, eat, sleep.

I thought it'll be envious-ish as well...finally no more work work and work!

BUT IM SO WRONG! its freaking boring bumming ard at home!

So i decided to get a part-time job and went to apply at retail shops, ben&jerry's, Haagen Dazs. May be working at this shop in GrandCathay called Instant Karma cause they called me up, but still considering cause i just went for an interview today at this pretty cool company which requires presentation and sales to be done.

Frankly speaking I'm skeptical about the incentives and commissions that were quoted, what hooked me was the training provided and how charismatic and sincere the trainers are. Since ive a month++ to go might as well pick up certain presentation and communication skills instead of bumming my time away at home.

Anybody wanna attend the training course with me?

Anyway I am really thankful to all the awesome ppl who made this yr's birthday so memorable(:

Received smses from ppl whom i nv thought would rmb, gotten really sweet presents and a cake with my name on it for the first time in 19 yrs^^

Speaking of age, 19 is past the twilight zone of a teeenager, where some ppl term it as being a"young adult". However I dont feel very "young", at the same time not yet an "adult"-though working and having my own source of income do provide a sense of independence. But yep, I do feel the difference and the transition is sort of hard to grapple with.

you know what I mean? please don't tell me im e only one feeling tt im changing!

The thing I dread about being older is having to make personal decisions-and having them being scrutinized or categorized into "right" or "wrong". To me there's no right or wrong decisions, only good or bad ones.

Sometimes I'm really afraid that I wouldnt be prepared to pay for the consequences of bad decisions.

♥ Byon(the boss) just emailed me that I can stop work on 9 June (next Mon), and that made me a very happy girl=D
Can you believe I started work just 2 days after A levels, and have been working until now....
Much is attributed to the fact tt i've been trying so hard to save money for Uni fees,
but the events that happened over these few mths gave me a hard shake on the shoulders and peeled my eyes like really open hah.
Time to take a break and pay attention to the little things I overlooked [:

The monorail is nothing interesting,

only more convenient I think.

But the upgraded version does looks quirkily rounded n cute.

Sentosa is beautiful with all the landscaping and beaches, if only the seawater could be less salty.

Played with the orange ball and fooled around with bubbles.

And of course we took many photos!

I like the shots of jasmine and qiuyun,

their yrs of moqi are evident in every photo-

After so long

Woke up late this morning,
watched doreamon,
cut my mum's hair,
went borders and bumped into eugene &claire in town-
i used to wonder how eugene will cope w/o his hair haha, guessed he lived with e lack of it.
Had lunch with wz at ajisen, got terribly insulted (as usual). but e awkwardness i'd expected nv came(:
Rushed off to work in record time, but on my punchcard i was still 1 min late, angry can!

Work was crazy, was assigned to do dining today by myself.
God all e plates n cutleries i could nv stop washing, but uncle desmond helped me to do e dishes for e afternoon! Love him to bits(: gave him my box of donuts and he was so happy.
anw now i know why rimmel's post was so depressing when she did e dishes!

Haha, but at night i got to display cum pack cum cashiering, was so chaotic tt they just threw me to man e cashier counter. Didnt teach me how to work tt thing at all, but i still managed to pick it up by trial n error...

Can u believe in one day we could actually sell 10 000 donuts? sheer madness.

Tt aside, i really got to wish kiam a HAPPY HAPPY BELATED 19TH!

Just came back from my Thypoid jab,
its for my weekend part-time in DONUT FACTORY at novena=D
arrived late for the interview today, but luckily e manager wasnt pissed off (i hope).
I saw mel in her uniform, she keeps saying she looks ugly but i think its cute lor.
& the staff there are really friendly, i alr feel loved when one of the twins tried to get me a pen and pulled out the whole metal string attached haha.

I'm so glad the manager doesn't mind me working till end of Jan, tt way i wouldn't have to bum ard at home while waiting for my new coordinator job to start in Feb.

Met von during her lunchbreak just now, somehow these few days i've been ctcing her alot (:
I must say she really motivated me to act out my plans, otherwise now i'll still be stuck in the credit collection centre-doing sth tt im comfortable with but not really happy about.

Nevertheless it was an eyeopening experience. Really learnt alot this past 2 mths++.
From how banks tag and track accounts, going to sub court to file writh of seizure, corresponding with bankruptee's OA, handling fedex SOA and AWBs, PhilipsSecurities complicated procedures etc etc.

TT aside, im gg for another interview in an hr's time for a tuition centre teaching job in Kovan.
Wish me luck! (: If i get it, its gonna pay really well, summore only 1 lesson/week.

I feel so happy for her, really.

Guessed the countdown with my dear girlfriends pretty much wrapped up one hell of '07.
Looking back as i was doing a round of prematured springcleaning that day- stumbled upon many forgotten notepads, calendar scribblings, stray photos and cards/letters tt ppl had written to me.
Truthfully i've had many episodes of emotion upheavals last yr, from compromising studies for nationals, to compromising family, r/s & class bonding for A's (yalahh i know how scarily i mugged)

Had let some not-so-honourable traits gotten the best out of me, but im really thankful that ppl ard me are patient & understanding enough to keep me close and showed me the brighter side of everything-to put it vaguely.

So far 08 hadnt been EXACTLY good for me, went down to work with a bad cold and slight fever, woke up next morning brushing my teeth too violently and cut a deep gash in my gums.it hurts like @^#*#&()#.

Wait and i want to complain! Adult train & bus fares are miserably STEEP, its a far cry from student concession. Previously all i had to pay per mth was just $27.50 for unlimited bus rides. now i have to spend ard $70+ per mth for my transport costs.
this is HORROR=( stupid office, so far in redhill...*rants*

Thanks SBS/SMRT for reminding me tt im old. Even gg to the gym burns a hole in my pocket now=(

Haha, but im still pretty optimistic bout '08, lifes been good to me.Has not been quarrelling as much with my mummy, been shopping, gg out with frens and soaking in the festive mood.
Looking forward to overseas team trip, changing to a new job(with higher pay i hope) , starting my jap class, and yes LOSING WEIGHT-my new yr resolution ><

Met in town for dinner and i ended up ridiculously late (its becoming one really bad habit *hit myself*) After that headed down to Clarke Quay for countdown, i'd got to say the atmosphere/ambience there beats marina/orchard-for me at least. its got a more laid-back tempo and less crowded if u chill at the right spots.

Its only been ONE week after A's,
yet it already felt like so much had happened & that last trip we made to school was a long time back.

Been experiencing the 9-to-5 office hours, while its not entirely dreadful,
school life is certainly much more enjoyable.

Kind of miss the cheapthrill of reaching school just in time for assembly,
especially just before the bell rings haha.

Work is good, rather challenging in fact.
Get to handle different types of people from all walks of life-
from big bosses, policeman, doctors to students, drivers, cleaners you name it.
Its actually a credit management firm, handling accounts from M1, Fedex, Exxonmobile, DBS, HSBC etc.

And my job is to:
First, talk sweetly and offer advice, propose installment plans and submit reports.
if that fails
to threaten with everything i can come out with for ppl to pay up.
and if that fails again
resort to field visits, but of cause that is not done by me.

OK, so don't come and ask me what im working as again!!!
Have to keep repeating and repeating><

Actually im quite happy with the way my life is now,
i can wake up to slowly have my breakfast.
Walk to my closet and choose something other than the brown uniform,
dress up in my pretty office wear
and read the newspaper on the long bus trip=D

Work ends at five, so theres still time to do the things i like.
Been gyming and swimming in the evenings with belly and von,
meeting up friends for dinners & engaging in girly talks,
shopping and buying things that i've always wanted=D

But actually the best thing is to just head home for dinner cooked by my mummy=D
( even though her cooking sucks).
To just laze around after dinner watching all the random shows on TV,
or to sit in front of the comp and watch my drama serials on youtube=D

Im thinking of taking up a Jap course at night with von,
and driving lessons wise im still considering, no point learning now if i wont get any four-wheeled vehicle to practise what i've learnt.

Learning how to speak malay at my workplace too! haha. too bad im no longer dark now.

So how's life for everybody? :]

Went to Plaza Sing's Manhattan Fish Market with class today after our last n final paper:D
Didn't exactly take a liking to the fish&chips, but at least the service was good.

And we caught STARDUST!
haha, initially i thought its about some outerspace galaxy war from the title.
But it turned out to be a fantasy fairytale-ending movie that leaves a warm fuzzy feeling in you :]

Shopped ard with the girls for their prom dresses, but the cathay basically only had a few handfuls of shops that are opened, so we pretty much strolled ard an empty mall><

Went to gym after that, which leaves me aching so excruciatingly now tt lactic acid beckons even as i type on the keyboard. my body's really NUA-ed during the past few mths!

Still planning on how to go about post-As life, with a long seven/eight mths to kill, i feel quite excited bout doing all the things tt i can do now:D

Its quite unbelieveable to look back now...

When haoxia left for the states on the 6thofjune, leaving a bunch of girls suddenly coach-less, a bunch of girls who couldnt yet quite see what was to come without him in the next crucial mth leading up to nationals.

But he left with us concrete plans, kaiwenfionahuiwen, and most imptly-a cause worth fighting for & a dream to realise.

im glad tt we didnt let him down, and tt we did him proud.really.

its not an easy fight against all the other schools-
with everybody training under similar intensity, all paddling their hearts out regardless of rainorshine.

i must say it was really heartening seeing all the snrs, grandsnrs, grandgrandsnrs coming back to provide guidance during all the trngs. it just shows tt no matter which batch you belong in, we are still onebigfamily.

Heartfelt thanks to kaiwenfiona&huiwen for playing such pivotal roles in our last stretch of paddlinglife. i hope our growth as a team is the best thing we can give back to you.

HELLO world,

no idea why, but just totally lost the momentum to blog.
but since its such a beautiful sunday, im quite urged to update this place :)

feeling quite nostalgic now in fact.

June holidays passed in a blur-
the trng-eat-sleep routine seems to already form that intricate part of my life,
so much that i can't shake it off even until now that sch's reopened.

Blocks was brushed off with my "anyhow zham" attitude-
and apparently the grades that came back was very impressive.
15/100 for maths,
topped off with whooping Us for chem, physics n gp.
Calling myself stupid would be an understatement.
No point being depressed anymore, im too jaded i guess.

Time spent with friends seemed to dwindle slowly,
didn't turn up for belly's party, missed last night's sec gathering as well.
i really hope i can make up for the lost meetings.
but these kind of things are not wad u can make up for..so rah.
frustrated.

and what's worse-
the letters B-R-O-K-E are literally splattered across my pretty face.
busted $180 in just one week alone.
all my angbao money, GONE.
dun even dare to get em frm mum given her own difficulty in handing my sis's tuition fees.

Anyway,
these days there's only one thing occupying my mind.
NATIONALS NATIONALS NATIONALS.

wahh, cause we were supposed to do visualisation before we sleep,
i ended up having funny dreams everynight.

it just seems quite unbelieveable when i look back,
to see how much ive changed as a person-
and how much ive stayed e same after this 1.5 years.

trng recently haven't been gg as well as i'd like it to be,
disagreements and conflicting thoughts .
but then again, i guess its this period that made me discover another aspect of the sport-

to go fast is to go slow:)
how very true.
and ive nv truly understood that until recently.

plus the fact that sometimes,

it's not bout proving that you are right,
but to correct whats wrong.

& that sometimes we hang on too dearly to our own opinions,
overlooking the flaws that lies within.

most imptly,
its not bout surging ahead by yourself,
but to move on together, which is what makes you feel good at the end of the day.

overall, i think we've coped considerably well without the old man.
(though there'r countless times i wished he was there to say sth)

jnrs are in fact v well prepared considering only the 6 mths they had.

i believe the k4 can deliver results as well if we focus on the right things.
im feeling quite relaxed bout e whole thing in fact.

the thing bout xinyi is tt she naturally makes me feel composed cause i can trust her to be in control most of the time.

& cause what can be done has alr been done,
just hope that luck will favour us throughout.

trng's scheduled earlier then usual at 7am today,
cause of the father's day "row row row your boat" competition in machritche.
had to be out of water by 9am.

yesterday met up wid shuyi and belly in amk lbry to do some studying,
finished ksp and some econs.

best thing is belly got us some very nice donuts:)),
but i think cause of e high demand the quality of donutfactory's donuts are falling slightly.
the one tt shuyi got was in this irregular shape that barely resembled a heart shape.

& belly is dumb as usual, we suaned her bout her body weight.
and she protested saying joshua is much fatter.
haha. i dun believe he's as bad as wad belly described.

Peer tutoring ended today.

Even though i was practically grumbling every morning about having to travel all e way to woodlands primary when e sky wasnt even bright,

these 5 days turned out to be a very refreshing
experience :]

`from first meeting my tutees who all pretended to be very quiet & introverted,
to knowing em so well tt they literally climb over my head.

my 3 tutees. rehka, aidil & delong!
indian,malay,chinese.
multi racial class=D

the indian girl could speak chinese and she told me tt she couldnt...chaojian><
& she practically wiped out my whole pencilcase's stationery.

lend her highlighter, she bring home.
lend her pencil, she bring home.
lend her pen, she bring home.
lend her eraser, she bring home.
never to be seen again!

haha, basically she's the only kid that i dun really like cause shes greedy, ( NOT tt im a racist!)
she keep bugging me for 5 days straight to give her money to go macdonalds.
and she eats up all my fooooood!

but at least she pays attention in class, and she's quite smart:)

Aidil is very quiet, but he gets very excited when he knows how to do fraction.
like 1-1/9=8/9 haha.
& he likes to ''tcher tcher i know the answer''.

Delong is the cutest.
On the first day he ask me if im a malay or indian-.-
He also likes to race me up the flight of stairs to the classroom at e 4th floor-
losing out to me everytime, but everyday he'll still want to compete wid me.

for problem sums today,
we had a question with tom and sam, and dey ask to find the total mass of the 2 men.
&delong started arguing with me.

delong: " teacher teacher! the question is wrong! cannot do wan"
me: " huh, its correct wad. dey all got the answers alr."
delong: " Nooo, tom and sam are BOYS, not MEN."
me: "........."

and he just refused to do the question until i agree wid him and tell the rest to change MEN to BOYS in the question.
